SKELETON FOUND AT AWHITU ON SATURDAY.

Sergeant Greene, the officer in charge of the Onehunga district, received information this morning that the remains of a man had been found by two young men, named T. H. Smith and E. Walters, aba place known as "Kent's," and near Tyndall's claim, Awhibu. They were returning homo, and being gum diggers thoy pub a spear into a place they thoughb indicated gum, and upon removing the soil came upon the skeleton of a man. The flesh was desbroyed, bub the bones were in a good state of preservation. The hair 'upon tbe skull was black, and a button, presumably from a shirt, was embedded in the skull. Sergeant Greene and P.O. Tapp are now investigabing the affair. .
