CITY SCHOOLS COMMITTEE.
The usual meebing of the Ciby Schools Committeo was held last nighb, when there wore present: Mr Blades (chairman), Dru. Walker and McArbhur, and Messrs Farrell, Julian and Fairs.
Drilling in Schools.—-Mr Harb, master of the Borosford-streeb School, wrote, asking if tho drill instructors of bho Permanent Force were available for bhe purpose of drilling bhe scholars the same as last winter.—lb was decided bo forward bhe letter bo tho Board of Educabion.
Examination of Schools.—The Board of Educabion wrote notifying bhe Commibbee that the Beresford-streeb School would be examined in standards on Monday, Augusb 7th, by Mr Goodwin ; Napier-streeb on samo date by Mr Dickinson, and Wellesloystreeb on Monday, bhe 21st Augusb, by Mr Dickinson.
Wellesley-street Vacancy; — Ib was decided bo recommend Miss Jessie H. Edmiston to tho Board of Education for the vacant position of assistant teacher of VVellesleystreeb School.
