WAIKATO NOTES.

(by telegraph.—own correspondent.) Hamilton, this day. The weather is still extremely cold, bu hue. Arrangements have boon rnado to entertain the Hon. Mr Seddon to-day at 6 o'clock dinner at the Commercial Hotel, prior to the moeting at the Volunteer Hall. The chairmen of all the public bodies have been invited to attend the meeting, and special seats will be reserved for ladies. If the weather coutinues fine, there is sure to be a great gathering from all parts of the Waikato. W. R. Carter lays on coaches from Cambridge, and many are expected even from To Aroha and other distant parts. Mr Soddon's speech ab tho Liberal Association meeting in Auckland is much thought of here, and approved of, by all thinking men. The Premier is certain of a good and enthusiastic reception in any case, and will be listened to attentively and his utterances v/ill be well weighed. No arrangements have been made as to questions to bo asked; this will bo left entirely to tho audience themselves, who will have a, right to act as they please in tho matter. A. few local requirements will bo bvonght undor the notice of the Premier, but they ure not numerous nor expensive, the principal item boing the future maintenance of the school bridge leading from Hamilton East to the railway station at Claudelands, originally erected by the Public Works Department as an approach to the railway station.', and now needing repairs.

No fresh cases 61 measles are reported, tho cold seemingly lvaving stamped them out.
