CROWN LANDS BOARD.
The monthly meeting of the Crown Lands Board was held to-day, when there were present: Mr Mueller (Commissioner), Major Harris, and Measra Thompson, Bugnail, and Lundon. Land Disposed Of. — Tlie _following summary of lands disposed oJ from 20th May to 10th June, 1893, was submitted :— Lease in perpetuity, 2,765 acres : occupapation with right) of purchase, 2,451 acres; for cash, 330 acres ; total, 5,546 acres. Number of selectors, 21.
Education Reserve.—A letter was received from the iSarvoyot-Genera!, relativo to a proposed education reserve, iying between Sections 14.1, to 142, 144, 145, Parish of Tauraroa and Tuuraroa River, containing IJSB acres. The Board was Btrongly of opinion that cho education reserves within this diotricD sliould not bo further increased as doinK so would materially interfere with tho apoedy settlement of the land. Okaihatj Pobuc Halt- Site.—Mr Houston forwarded sketch of Okaihau Public Hall sito being part of section 72, part of a cemotary reserve, but not gazetted. —It was recommended that tho sits bo reserved as a public hnll site. Great Barrier Miking Leases.—Three implications were received for protection during; tho winter months lor mining leases fit tho Great Barrier.—Granted, with the understanding that the leai-os be continuously worked after October2lsfc.
