A Learned Pig.

There is a sfory of a learned pig thab was known several years ago in St. Petersburg. He was owned by a clown named Tanti, and exhibited in the Imperial Circus. This pig used to add up columns of figures, do tricks with cards, and tell fortunes. One night while Tanbi wa3 being entartained by a lot of Russian officers they began to bid for his wise pig. Ab last £700 was offered, and Tanti sold his pig for thab amount, not knowing what the officers would do with him. The results were very sad, for the heartless men had the pig killed and cooked and sent to the clown with their compliments. When this fact became known, however, Tanti loeb much in popularity, and the officers were severely reprimanded.
