FATAL ACCIDENT AT TAKAPUNA.

Whilst engaged about mid-day yesterday in shovelling gravel fromaledge in McKie's pit, at Lake Takapuna, into a cart beneath, Walter Tye, a young man, slipped and fell a distance of ten feet, on to the rail of the cart. It was seen at oncethatdeceased was considerably injured, but s fatal result was not expected. Dr. Roberts, who was telephoned for, was soon in attendance. Upon examination he found that no bonos were broken, but that the fall had seriously affected Tye internally. Deceased was removed to his parents' houeo, where he died at 11 o'clock lust night.
