What the resulb of bhis conference was haa nob been made public, and the next we may expect to hear of the petition in favour of bhe commubabion of bhe deabh senbence will not be till the Ministers have deliberated on the matber. In all probabiliby bhe Cabineb will meet on Saturday, and the result ot bheir consultation will bo laid before the Governor when he arrives in Wellington. During yesterday Sir Patrick waited oa His Excellency.
Mr Thornes, land agenb, reports tha sale of Mr M. H. Roe's interest in the leasehold section in Victoria Avenue, being lob 27 of a sub-division of allotments 6 and 7 of section S, to Mrs Longville for £14 ; also bha freehold properby sibuabed in Greab Norbh Road, and being allobmenb No. 2 of a sub-division of lob 9 section 8, sold on behalf of Mr Frank flockenof, Fielding, for £300 cash.
Messrs Donald and Edenborough's Island steamer Richmond, which left here to-day for Tahiti and Rarotonga, with a fairly large cargo and several passengers, ia expected to bring back a large freighting to Auckland on her return brip. The sbeamer's; return cargo is expected to include larga quantities of copra and of the new cofle. crop from Rarotonga.
