Opotiki, this day. Te Kooti passed qui.fcly away on Monday night ab the turn of tho tide (8 o'clock), ab a native se.bletnent situated on the shore of Ohiv/a harbour, almost due south from the island of Hokianga. Ho had been in failing health for some time, consequent on _ a recenb accidenb which befel him, but death came unexpectedly- When he breathed his lasb he was surrounded by many of his mosb devoted followers and his wives. The natives have been thronging the township to-day, purchasing provisions for the tangi which will be of a certainty one of the greatest ever witnessed.
