ORANGE INSTITUTION.
The officers and raemborH of fcho Grand Orange Lodgo to tho number of twenty procoodo'd in a brako to I'apakura on Saturday aftornoon last, for tho purpose of paying tho lod^e in that township an oflicnil visit. On tho wiiy tliither, Fovcral brethren wero picked up, including tho R.W.G.M. When tho company arrived at their destination they were loudly cheered, and befoi'O boing convoyed to tho Orango Hall, proceeded to Mr PennttU'fi Hotel, whore a Bumptuoua dinner waa prepared, of which all wero pleased to partake after tho drive, and Bro. Rev. C. R. Gurry, conducting dovotional exorcises. Dinner bein^over tho brelhronproccedod to tho Orango IJall, which waa tastefully decorated. Bro. Massoy took the chair, and Bro. J. W. Hoono, Foreman of Grand Committee, took the vicechair, when tho Lndgo waa opnnod in tho First DoL'i-00. Tlic Graridmustar in addressinf^ tho brethren said ho was doiighted to see tho nioo little hall, and to know that they did not ir.tund to let their light shine under a bushel, but on a candlestick. The hall was a credit to them. He had not had tho .honour of paying them an oliicial visit before, bub he hoped to bo ablo to do so again at an early date, as ho bolievcd such visits wore uaoful. Ho hoped they would still stand faithfully by tho old flag, and earnestly contend for tho faith once dolivored to tho saints. Bro. R. C. 11. Curry also addressed them and jjave thorn Homo very sound advice. Both addresses wero received with applause Tho Lodgo was thon raised to tho Socond Dogreo, into which one candidato waa initiated. Bro. Crornarb, Grand Lodgo lecturer, performed liis pact most creditably, and Bro. Curry acted at chaplain. After tho initiation congratulations wero extended to No. :)2 from Nog. 1, 2, 8, 10, 12, 14 and 39, The Lodgo was lowered and closed with devotional oxorcisos and the einginp of tho National Anthem. The Ladies' Orango Lodgo in town will celcbrato their anniversary by a social on Friday ovoning noxt, when ib is hoped, aftor all thoir exertions to mako it a success, thero will bo a largo attendance Ib commences at 0 jun, in St. George's Hall, Newton.
