TO-NIGHT'S OPERA CONCERT-
The nexb two grand opera concerts by the Royal Italian Opera. Company will take place to-night and to-morrow evening at the City Hall, and for each an exceptionally attractive and powerful programme has been prepared. The numbers allotted for to-night's performance are as follows :— Valsefor piano'(Chopin), Miss Brabazon ; tomanza, " Traviata," Signor Sisco ; duo, " Carmen," Signor and Signora Cuttica ; cavatina, "Infelico," "Ernani," Signor Travaglini; duo, "Barbiere," Signori Cuttica and Sisco ; the great mad scene from "Luoia," Signora Cuttica (with flute obligato by Signor Ribottaro); aria, " Salvator Rosa," Signor lorio; the greab finale to the third act of "Ernani" by the entire company. Thi. great number is known as the Charlemagne Chorus, and the enormous power with which it is given by bhe Company has provoked perfect salvos of applause wherever it has been given, and it has almost invariably compelled a triple encore. The effect produced has been described as like that of fifty voices. In the second part Miss Brabazon will perform Beethoven's " Turkish March ;" SignoriuaMatioli.the polacca from " Puritani;" Signor Ribottaro, concerto for flute; Signor Sisco, serenade, "Don Giovanni;" Signorina Matioli and Signor Travaglini, duo, " Sera d'Amor ;" Signori Cuttica, lorio, and Sisco, trio, " Fausb;" Signora Cubtica her famous rendering of "Sing, Sweeb Bird " (in English) with flute obligato by Signor Ribottaro, and tho whole Company will conclude the programme by singing the merry and now thoroughly popular Neapolitan eccentricity, "Funiculi, Funicula." To-morrow's programme will be another complete change, and will end the first series of these greab concerts, which are excibing a degree of public interesb tbat is pleasant to witneaa. It is safe to say that it will be impossible ever to surpass such interpretation as is being given to the great operatic works tbat supply such a unique musical feast.
