EAST TAMAKI ROAD BOARD.

A meeting of the Easb Tamaki Board was held in the Board's Offices on August 22nd, Messrs R. Halley, R. Thompson, W. Fothergall, and A. R. Harris (Chairman), being present. Mr A. I. Shackell read a letter from Mr James Cargo resigning his offico as trustee, and " The members of tho East Tamaki Road Board dedro to put on record their disapprobation of members of the above Board resigning from office if their wishes are not approved of by the other members, thereby incurring expense to ratepayers, and putting the Board to unnecessary inconvenience. The Board also deny that the Chairman has acted any way improper during his connection with the Board, and are satisfied with his ruling."

It was decided and a day appointed to visit the whole of the district and see what; improvements can be made on tho roads. A Committee was appoinGod to report on tho reserves in the district, and if necessary obtain legal opinion. It was decided to call for tenders for metal, carting, and various other work to be done in the district1, tenders to be sent in by Che sth August, as the Board are determined to

have all heavy work done early in the summer.
