LADIES' BENEVOLENT SOCIETY.
A CONDITIONAL SUBSIDY.
(BY TELEGRAPH.—SPECIAL REPORTER.)
Wellington, this day. Mr T. Thompson has just sent to Auckland the h'nal reply of the Government with regard to the application from the Auckland Ladies' Benevolent Society to have the Government subsidy continued. The Government, after, consulting with Dr. MacGregor, have resolved that; the subsidy will bo given to the Society on condition that clause 36 of the Act is complied with, and the Charitable Aid Board' assumes supervision of the Society's operations.
