Per Awanui, from Gisborne and East Coast ports: 226 Sacks maize, 70 sacks barley, 8 sacks wheat, 5 sacks fungus, 120 sacks bones, 46 sack 3 hide 3, 326 cheeses, 4 bales wool and skins, 40 fowls, 5 pigs, and a quantity of sundries.

The s.s. Ohau, Captain G. McDonald, sailed for Westporb direcb on Saburday nighb. The ketch Gratitude has gone alongside tho breastwork to tho westward of Queen street Wharf, to have some alterations to her cabin.

The barque Northern Chief, Captain Mackay, has been chartered to load timber at Kaipara for Melbourne. She is to go on to the haid for scraping and cleaning.

The s.s. Fifeshire arrived no Timaru on Saturday from Sydney to load frozen meat. The s.s. Doric sailed from Porb Chalmers yosterday for Lyttelton, arriving there today.

The" tugboat. Eagle conveyed a quantity of kauri gum for London to the ship Forfarshine in tho stream this morning. To-morrow the Forfarshine is to be towed alongside the Timaru, and the copra stored in the latter vessel will be transferred to her hold.

The regular trading schooner Awanui, 85 tons, Captain J. H. Skinner, arrived from Gisborne and way ports on Saturday nighb with a full cargo of produce, grain, etc. The schooner left Gisborne on the 11th inst., and called at Tologa Bay, Abaura, Waipiro and Awanui. She rounded bhe Easb Cape on bhe 23rd, after experiencing very bad weather and heavy seas, and she had to lie at Kawakawa for three days till the latter moderated. 'J_he schooner rounded Cape Runaway on the 27_h, and called at Orebi, Baukokore, and Tekaha, leaving the la.ter place on tho 29bh, and arriving as above. Tho B.s. Australia, 459 tons, Captain Gibb, arrived at 11.30 a.m. to-day from Wellington and the usual way ports with passengers and cargo. The purser reports that bho steamer left Wellington at 3.30 p.m. on Thursday, 28th ultimo, arrived ab Napier on the 29th, Gisborne on the 30th, worked at Tokomaru that evening, discharged cargo at Waipiro ab daylight on the 31st, and arrived at Awanui at 9 a.m. leaving the latter port at 11.30 a.m., and arriving here as above. She experiencedsoutherly gale and heavy sea from Welling, ton to Gisborne/ thence to arrival fine weather and smooth water. She leaves on the return trip to-morrow evening at five o'clock.
