The iron barque Alexa, Captain H. Minor, which arrived on Saturday afternoon from bhe Bluff, erain laden, had a rather long passage. The captain reports that she lefb bhe Bluff on July 13th with a moderate westerly wind, which lasted until past Otago Heads, when 24 hours' calm ensued, followed by a fresh N.E. wind which enabled her to pass Banks' Peninsula on the 19th. From there variable winds and thick weather were experienced until the evening ofthe 22nd,when it blewa heavy S.S.E.gale the weather being still thick and raining The East Capo waa rounded on the 24th' and the barque had strong S.S. W. wind, across the Bay of Plenty. She passed the Great Barrier on the 29th, picked up the tug boat oil Tiri Tiri abnoon, and berthed ab bhe Quay-street Jetty at 4 p.m. The Alexa started discharging her cargo this morning, and on completion is "to po into dock for cleaning, painting, and goneral overhaul, on completion of which she will leave for Maiden Island to load guano for the Bluff.
