MR IMPETT'S CONCERT.
Mr Walter Impett, assisted by some of the best local talent, gave an excellent concerb ab St. Jaine3;s Hall lasb evening. The concerb opened with a piano duet, selection, " Hungary," from "Foreign Parts" (Moszkowski), which was well played by Miss Rhoda R. Bach (a pupil of Mr Impett) and Mr Walter Impett. Mr Impett also took parb in a piano and violin dneb with Mr Clough, " Allegro Con Brio" (Beethoven) and this was .his besb performance. Al r Clough gave an excellent interpretation of the violin parb. Mr -mpetb's other selections "Caprice Hongroiss " (Ketterer), which was encored, and a paraphrase on the French air "Parta.-it Pour la Syne" and "The National Anthem '" were rather disappointing, Miss Rimmer contributed Moir's *' Be?- For All " and " Call me Back " (Denzu) in her best style, and in response to the inevitabls encore, gave bwo other charming songs with charming effect. Mrs Cooper sang "Tho Old Ferryman," and was loudly applauded. In response to arecall shesaug "The Broken Pitcher." Messrs Clough, Triphook, Cox, and Edger played two string quartettes most acceptably, and in response to aii encore repeated part of tho firsb number. Mr Horace Stobbing contributed "No! My Courage" (Maritana), and though nob ab ois best, proved thab he possesses a very good baritone voice. "The Lasb Watch" (Pinsuti), by Miss E. Reeve, was one of the best vocal items of the evening, and was deservedly encored. Mr G. M. Reid Save an excellent rendition of " The Irish Emigrant" (Barker), for which he was recalled, and Mr W. Georgo's singing of "The Postillion " (Molloy) was well worthy te e *oU<* aPP^auee which followed this effort. The accompaniments were well played by Mr Alf Bartley and Mr Impebt.
