THE GAME SEASON.
The season during which imported gamo may be shot commences on the second of May—as the first is a Sunday—and will continue until the 30th of July. Licenses for shooting cost £1. and may be obtained from any post office which is also a money order office. These do not entitle any porson to sell game, as that requires a dealer's license. As regards hen pheasants, a curious anomaly exists in the law owing to amendments. The holder of a license may shoot hen pheasants, but under another section ib ia iliogal to have possession of a dead hen pheafiantJ. The season for native gamo commenced on tho Ist of April, and continues to the 30th of July. No license is required to snoot native game.
