Davys' Bright Lights Company opened at the Opera House again last evening. This evening an entirely new programme, with carefully selected songs and sketches and other attractions, is to be submitted by the Company. The management promises a good entertainment. There is no doubt that in a large and civilised community there is nothing more necessary to anyone than a good and reliable directory. It is not once or twice a year tha'. we require such a work of reference, but every day of the year, and, frequently, every hour. We have before us, forwarded by the publishers, Cleave" and Co.'s Auckland Directory for 1892. It is a healthy-looking volume, of handy sue and shape, and has a prosperous aspect. The names and streets, the directory, in fact, is well printed in large, clear type, and appears to be very correct. It contains a 10-chain map of the city, a calendar, and various matters of a useful nature.
