The iris escaped through tiie wound, and so also did the watery fluid and a goorf portion of the jelly substance of the globe. Mrs White was advised io have the eyeball, removed, but Dr. Wilkins, to whom tbe little one was taken, undercook to try and save tho eye. Placing the child under chloroform, he t etitched up t/he globe with line gold wire and brought the lids oogether and stitched them co as tc make n splint tor tbti larerateci eyeball. both eyes were padded and bandaged, and the little one sent home. Dr. Wilkins fully expects to save the oye, successful results having been Eecured in other equally bad cases.
