Mr Bates, as Chairman, rend the report of the vestry for the year 1891, which was as follows :—Mr J. B. Gilfillan resigned through change of residence meetings. The quarterly meetings of the vestry wore held, and had been well attended. The Chairman said he was glad to report that the church buildings and ground wore all in excellent order and condition. The offertories and seat rents of fcha past year showed an increase as compared with those of previous years. The total receipts, exclusive of the bank overdraft, amounted to £434 2s 3d. The vestry earnestly desired that, if practicable, the weekly otter.tories should bo increased. A more prosperous year was anticipated. Ho was sorry to say that the choir had not been so strong in numbers as in years This was to be regretted, and ought to be remedied if possible. The vestry were aware of the great benefit derived from good singing, and take this opportunity of reminding members of the good they can do and asking them to try and improve the average attendance. The Sunday school hud been well attended and maintained its standard of usefulness. An Industrial Exhibition held in June last had proved very successful. The meeting desired to thank all those who had given their services in the past year. In moving the adoption of the report, Rev. Mr Bates said that although the receipts for the year were slightly larger than those of I he past year, he thought that had a sale of work been held as in previous years, but which had been omitted in 1891, the- funds would have been materially increased. Ho hoped that there would be more recitals of sacred music, concerts and two or three conversaziones through the coming year, as they were great helps in the parishioners together and binding them in the bonds of brotherhood and love. He desired to thank all those who had tendered their services in the past year, and they were much indebted" to the Social Committee, who deeerved the warmest thanks. The annual harvest festival, he hoped, would be held about the middle of February, He would now move, " That the report bo received."
