A GENERAL FIGHT.

Paths. Ja-nuary 20. In the Chamber of Deputies, M. Laur made a disgraceful charge against M. Constans, Minister of the Interior. The latter resented it by seizing Laur by the throat as he was leaving the Tribune from which speakers address the Chamber, and striking him twice in the face.

The action was.greeted by the members with frantic applause. A. duel is certain to arise out of the incident.

Other deputies also came to blows over the matter.

M. Constans afterwards apologised to M. Floquet, President of the Chamber, for his behaviour.
