Values remain about the same, £3 10s to £4 for primo kidneys and Magnum Bonums; £2 10s to £3 10s, Hobarts and Port Fairies, according to .quality. Onions are selling freely at £9 per ton, 3d to ljd per lb. Cereals continue dull of sale, and trade is restricted 1.0 small lines. Maize, 2s Id to 2s 3d ; oats, bright short, 2s 2d to 2s 4d. Dairy produce: Prime fresh butter is firm at 7Jd to Shd, bub wo oxpecb prices will be higher to-morrow, as feed is very scarce, and the quantity received in the city is less than usual. Fruit: Suppliep continue~ very good ; prices remain at about last week's ; plums average to Japanese. ; greenßapres uptoSJd, Apples are difficult to sell except first-class eating sorts, the price of which is Id to lgd ; the general run of values, however, will nob exceed Ad to ;Jd. Tomatoes are arriving in £uch increased ciuantitiee that a considerable fall in price has to be -reported, Tuesday's auction, Id to lgd. Poultry : The supply has been far beiow requirements, the demand being very good. Mr Alex. Aitkes, auctioneer, Agricultural Hall, reports a good business doing in general produce, with supply, although heavy, not beyond requirements, and in some lines nob equal. Potatoes : The demand is very good, and all good samples command immediate sale, at £3 10s upwards. I regret to find that the light crops are tempting many farmers to run their samples too small. This is very unwise; such lots, which are on hand in considerable quantities, cannot bo sold privately, and at auction only command cow potato price, viz., Is 3d to la 6cl per cwt. Onions are now plentiful and of good quality; although crops are reported somewhat light; sales effected ap to Id. Garlic orders on hand for a few sacks for Fiji. A small parcel sold at auction at Id per lb. Maize haa sold in fair quantity at 2s 3d. Barley, scarce ; wheat for fowl teed hardly procurable at present. Oats, bran and sharps are without change in value, although not

over-plentiful. Butter is very scarce; freah, of prime quality, very little coming to hand, which finds quick sale at 8d to B|d ; medium lots, 6d to 7id ; keg butter, prime spring made is in good demand, and sells on arrival at 7d, while the demand for other grades, for pastry purposes is also strong at 6d ; lard, 3d to 3.} d. Eggs are somewhat scarce at 9£d to 10£ d, although many stale lots are still coming forward. Bacon and hams, all old stocks cleared out at 2d to 3d : prime fresh, 6d fco 7d ; ham 3, 7d to"9d. Honey rather quiet: bulk, Sid to M ; section. 2£d to 3d. Fruit continues plentiful, plums, pears, and peaches selling at payable prices, but apple 3 are very low in value. Plums : Pond's seedling, 2£d to 4d • diamond, 3d to 3Jd ; Orleans,2|dto3d; otherdark to 2jd ; greengage, 2|d to 3d ; Washington, 2Ad to 2i ! d ; damsons, 2£cl to 2id. Peaches are now coming to hand in great quantities, including Tauranga and Thames consignments', and the demand remains strong at 2d to 3d per lb, and 10d to Is per doz for extra choice quality, 6d to 7d for medium, and 2d to 4d for very small. I would recommend growers to sell peaches by weight, thereby saving trouble of counting and in most cases obtaining more money. Apricots, 5d to 6Jd ; pears. Jargonelle, 2d to 2fd; Windsor, fd to Id ; Cape gooseberries, 4£d to 6d; lemons, Is to Is Bd, according to size; grapes, Is to Is per lb; tomatoes, to 2d per lb ; average, Id for good lots; pickling walnuts, 2d. On Monday the arrival of tho s.s., Ovalau from Fiji brought upwards of 3,000 bunches of bananas to hand, the bulk in very bad condition, having been steamed in the vessel's hold ; 1,000 bunches sold at vessel's side at 2s 3d to 2a 9d per bunch, balance staged for Tuesday's sale realised from Is 4d to 2s for green lotß and 10d to Is for ripe and damaged.
