Rotorua, this day. Mr J; C. Blytke, the Resident Government Engineer, died last night ab 9 o'clock. He lefb a; written statement addressed to the Coroner, stating that he had taken pyrozallic acid, as he wished to end all his troubles. An inquest will be held tomorrow. Mr Blythe was an old resident of the disbricb, universally respected, and was one of the surveyors at the Wairoa on the memorable night of the eruption. His sad end has cast quite a gloom over the district-. • .
