THE PAMIR TRIBESMEN.
DEFEAT BY THE BRITISH.
Calcutta, December 29. The British forces at Gilgit, in Western Thibet, which was threatened by the Pamir tribesmen, gallantly stormed several positions near Port Nilt without losing a man, while the loss sustained by the enemy was 70 killed and T2o taken prisoners. The tribesmen fled to Nagar, where the chief submitted.
