AUCKLAND ROWING ASSOCIATION.
TO-DAY'S REGATTA
This afternoon the Auckland Amateur Rowing Association's annual regatta was proceeding on the new courso, in the Upper Waitemata, near Pine Island, and from all appoarancoß promised some excellent racing. The regatta is
the most ambitious rowing carnival yet held in Auckland. Energetic etforts to ensure the complete success of the affair had been made by Mr H. S. Ashton, Hon. Secretary. A large number of spectators wero conveyed up to tho scene of tho races by ferry-boats at 11 a.m., 1 p.m., and 2 p.m. to-day, the boats belonging to the competing crews being towed up on a punt by ono of the steamers.
