MASONIC INSTALLATION.
A BRILLIANT GATHERING
Thk great respect Bro. T. Thomas is held in among brethren of the New Zealand Constitution of Freemasons was fully shown last night by the large number of the croft who assembled in tho Masonic Hall, Princes-street. The lodge-room and dais were crowded. The ceremonies were enhanced hy the presence of a splendid string ban.l oi 7 instrument*. Bro. H. 0. Tewsley, the re biting R.W.M., oponed the .Lodge. The R.\V?M. elect, Bro Thomas, wu. presented by Bios. Basley and J. W. Ed _6i> bo the Installing Master, Grand Superintendent Brother Niccei. The various ceremonies wore fane through a;.d Bro. Thomas ww installed into thi. chair. Subsequently h; instu'led his ofliecrs as follows, " addressing a few choico and

Tewsley was presented on behalf of the Lodge with a most handsome jewel by Bro. NicL.i. Bro. Tewsley suitably replied. A handsome set of mallets given to the Lodge by Bro. N. McCuisky were delivered to the various officers, and Bro. Thomas returned thanks to the Grand Superintendent for acting as Installing Master, to the orchostra, who so greatly aided the proceedings, to the visiting brethren, and also tho3B connected with Lodge St. Andrew. Before closing, Bro. Niccol made lesdng reference to the death of Bro. Sir Frederick Whitaker. Afterwards tne brethren assembled in the largo lodge-room and .light refreshments wero'served, the proceedings being interspersed by songs, recitations, etc.
