Dunedin, this day. In Chambers on Friday, Mr Chapman moved to.seb aside proceedings in re Scobb, arrested on Friday last at the instance of the Governmenb. Mr Stoub opposed on behalf of bhe Queen. After three hours' argumenb, Judge Williams quashed the proceedings on a technicaliby. This decision is thab service of writ and subsequent proceedings bhoreunder, including bail bond, be seb aside, reserving by consent the question as to whethor ib should bo a condition of order bhab no action be brought againsb the Sheriff.
