Gold has been carried up th& rise its entire distance, 75fb, and it has also been met with both in the foot and hanging wall of the reef ab the Golden Cup level, whilst the class of sandstone the reef is encased In is all that could be wished for." Deep Levels.—At a meeting to-day of the Borough and County Councils, and Messrs Friar Clarke, lirodie, Porter and Kissling as representing the Drainago Board, the following resolution was unanimously adopted, " That in the.opinion of the representatives of the various bodies here represented it is considered advisable that pumping operations should be continued to the 640 feet level and the various parties here represented will use their best endeavours to raise money for this object, and that a committee consisting, of two members from the Borough Council and Drainage Board take into consideration the best means of raising the necessary funds." May Qi'ictx. —Clearing up to-day pro duced 270 or. gold -Irons 182 loads quartz, and lOlba picked stone. Lone Hand.—Splendid country is being penetrated iti the low level, and when the reef is met with, it should prove gold bearing. ,
