PARNELL.
The ordinary meeting of the Parnell Borough Council was held last evening. There were present: Messrs Scaly (Mayor), McCabe, Gay, Kissling, Coleman, Gilmour, and Savage. George J. Viekers wrote objecting to the cutting down of the embankment in front of his house, and suggesting a few loads of scoria for tho road. The Foreman of Works stated thab scoria had been placed there. A similar reply was given to a request from A. E. Dewee. Cr. Gay drew attention to the danger of fever caused by the gully drain between Sr. Stephen's Avenue and Gladstone Road. The matter was referred to the Streets Committee with power to act. Accounts to the amount of £265 11s 9d were passed for payment, including £208 16s. Some discussion took place as to the revenue derived from the water supply rate, but no action was taken and the matter was deferred.
