PRESBYTERIAN GENERAL ASSEMBLY.

Christchurch, this day. The General Assembly of tbe Presbyterian Church me,t this morning. The first hour was spent in devotional exeicises. A lebtor was read from the ex-moderator explaining hiß inabiliby on accounb of ill health to be present at the opening of bhe Assembly. Greab sympabhy was expressed for bhe Rev. Mr Burnebb. A Commibbee was appointed to draw up a minute re the death of the Rev. John Mackay, of Obahuhu. Rev. Mr Sidney read the treasurer's report, which showed the funds of the church to be in a very prosperous condition. The sum of £224 5s 6d has been contributed for the Assembly's expenses, £357 for foreign mißsionß,£l3oforMaoriand Chinese—issions, £129 for the aged and infirm minisbers' fund, and £14 by bhe Sabbath schools for foreign missions and bhe Dayspring. A requesb from bhe Presbyberians of Wesbland, asking bhab Mr D. Anderson be allowed bo marry and baptise, was granbed.
