H.M.S. SWINGER.

H.M.s. Swinger is likely to be handed over to the New South Wales Government shortly. She is a composibe builb gunboab of the second class, and was consbrucbed at Pembroke, by Humphreys, in 1872, at a total cost of £14,500, the hull alone costing £10,600. Her displacement is 430 tons, length 125 feeb 6 inches, beam 22 feet 6 inches, and draughb 9 feet 6 inches. The armament of bhe vessel conBisbs'of two 64-inch guns ( M.L.R.), bwo 20----inch guns (8.L.R.), and bwo machine guns. The Swinger is propelled by engines of 520----horse power indicated, is barqaentinerigged, and altogether is considered a very handy little vessel.
