OUR GOLDFIELDS.
Occidental.--The manager reports that in breaking down the reef in No. 3 sbope, the quartz showed gold freely, and several pounds of picked stone were secured. ISio. 4 stope shows a reef 9 inches bbick, well mineralised. No. 7 sbope has been broughb along, and the reef has shown gold throughout In bhe winze bhe reef averages one foob, shows gold, and returns picked sbone occasionally. May Queen.—The manager reports that the crosscut is going through hard blue rock. Trenton. —The manager reports that at No. 5 level the new lode is 15 inches wide and shows colours of gold. Ab No. 3 level gold is making to bhe easbward. There is now 1961b of picked sbone on hand. Cambria.—The manager reports thab bhe leader in the rise ab No. 2 level shows nice colours of gold, and the precious mebal is seen in bhe inbermodiabe below No. 2 level, also in the cross leader ab No. 3 level, and in No. 7 leader ab No. 4 level. From the latter picked stone was saved during the week. Saxon.—The manager reports that the crosscut at No. 6 level requires to be driven 26ft to cut No. 1 main reef. The leader in the ri3e over No. 4 level averages one foot in bhickness, and during bbc week fully 151b of picked sbone has been saved. Golden Age.—The manager reporbß that the reef has shown a little gold ab every breaking down. Orlando. —The manager reporbs bhat bhe hanging-wall reef reburns fair crushing dirb. Mountain Flower.—Tho manager reporbs bhab bhe reef is about 9 inches wide, arid the sbone is of a very promising nature. Flying Cloud.—The manager reports thab bhe reef still looks well, and shows a libble gold. Freedom.—Tbe manager reporbs thab in the winze ab the intermediate level the lode is aboub 12 inches wide and shows strong dabs of gold at every breaking down. , Alburnia.—The manager reports that the crushing of 28 loads of general dirb and 101b of picked stone returned 420z of melted gold. Saxon.—The reef at No. 6 level should be to hand early next week. Victoria. —The new contractors for driving 200 feeb from bhe Prince Imperial No. 3 level commenced work bo-day. Vizard's (Coromandel).—The mine manager reporbs: " Since my lasb there i« nothing of imporbance to report from the mine. The drive is in a distance of bhirbyfour feeb." Orlando. —A crushing of 35 loads quartz was finished to-day for 430z gold.
