Yachts, under 4 ton rating. Ist prize, £10 and Cup presented by Messrs P. Hayman and Co. : 2nd prize, £5 ; 3rd prize, £2. Course : Same as third race, excepting that after start™;? to go round south side of mark boat oil Judge's Bay, aa well as when returning. Once round, coming in on south side of flagship. ENTRIES AND POSITIONS : 1. Millie (R. Little), 2'2S tons. 2. La Maseotte (MacCormiek and Rathbone), 2 - 65 tons. 3. Sybil (A. J. Willetts), 2-34 tons. 4. Startle (J. Clare). 5. Mizpah (L. Wilson), 2-75 tons. 6. Minerva (J. C. Russell), 21 tons. 7. Transit (H. Wright), 2-28 tons. ■ 8. Tangaroa (J. Kilfoyle and C. Madigan), 3'l tons. All the boats entered came to the post, and were given a splendid start. They went down the harbour in a pretty bunch, every craft having all the canvas spread she could catry, and spinnakers out. The Startle, Clare's new boat, led at the first, but was passed down the harbour by the Tangaroa, with the Transit close on her skirts. MacCormick's La Mascotte showed good form, but was left in the bunch behind. Until rounding the Judge's Bay mark, the whole flotilla were so close together that it was impossible to distinguish the order maintained. Comiug up the harbour again, and round.ng the Judge's Bay mark - boat, ithe Tangaroa led by several hundred yards, the Mizpah, Wilson's new boat, was the nexb to pass the Queen-street Wharf, the Mascotte being third, some distance astern. The Mizpah had made some good running coming ago from the North Head, and showed a fine spread of canvas, having a big jack-yard afloat. The Mascotte had far too little canvas for the day.
