There was a warm minute or two in the House yesterday afternoon, when Mr 11. Thompson of Marsdon reuse to move that a, copy of the letter of Sir Harry Atkinson to fcir Gilbert Hair in defence of the late Mr Sperrey, should be laid on the tabled? the House. Mr Thompson characterised Sir Harry's action ill writing as cowardly and unmanly, but was pulled up by the Speaker.nnd he said the late Premier would never have made an attack on him (Mr Thompson), but thab he knew he would not, again appeal- in the House and would not have to answer for it. The charges ha had made against Mr Sperrey h« had been and was prepared to substantiate. Air Thompson appeared pretty wurtn-on the ' The Hon. Capb. Russell rose to defend Sir Harry and Mr Sperroy. He eaitl Mr Thompson had had wnpla opportun# to subatantiate his charges, and did notdoeo. He rated Air Thompson soundly for his attack on an absent mat:, and spoke mmhighest terms of the late'Jlr Sperrey.
