EULOGY IN THE HOUSE OS , REPRESENTATIVES. REGRET EXPRESSED AT HIS RETIREMENT. (FKOil OUR SPECIAL BlsrOllTEK.) Wellington, this day. In doiujr so Mr Rees made an eloquent speech eulogising Sir George's actions. He pave a brief sketch of fcha retired statesman's life. The Hon. Mr Ballance seconded the motion, and Mr Rolleston, on behalf of the other side of the House, made a pleasant little speech in very good taste. The Hon. Air Seddon was hardly happy in referring to the various political actions of Sir George, and Mr Scobie McKenzio did nob forget to remind him of the fact. Mr McKenzie, however, spoke weil, and with great appreciation of Sir George's services. Messrs W. Hutchison, E. A. Smith, J. \Y. Thomson and others, spoke in enthusiastic terms. Ib would have delighted Sir George's heart to hear Mr J. Mills, a young New Zealander, Air Pinkerton, a, labour member, from Dunedin, and Mr Baick, another young Hew Zealander and labour member, express their high appreciation of the good Sir George has done the country. Ivlr Buick was especially good in his remarks, and when he sat down after his maiden speech he was applauded all round the House. The motion was, of course, carried tmaiiimonsly with acclamation, arid it was resolved to have icenjjrossed and forwardedj to Sir George from rhe Speaker.
