AUCKLAND CITY.
Mr J. A. Tole was waited upon on Saturday last by deputations from Waikato and Cifcy electors with a request that he would contest one or other of the electorates. Mr Tole,while thanking the he folt reluctantly compelled to decline seeking election for any coaetftuency at present.
An effort is now being mado to induce His Worship tho Mayor (Mr J. H. Upton) and Mr E. Withy to a band for the city, and both gentlemen '• are expected to give a definite reply to-morrow.
