AGRICULTURAL AND INDUS TRIAL ASSOCIATION.
A meeting of the Coounibtoo of the above body was hald this afternoon in the Mangere Farmers' Club-room, Queen-street. Sir Massoy presided,- and about 20 members wore present. Drinking Booths.—A letter was read from Sir William Fox asking the Committee to re-consider his letter objecting to a drinking booth being allowed at trie forthcoming -was decided to inform the writer that it had been resolved to offer the booth for public competition next week. It wiia suggested that if Sir Wm. Fox chose to purchase the booth he could prevent the sale himself. SPECiAXi Prize, —Mr J. Macniccoll, of Cambridge, telegraphed his intention of giving a special prize of £2 2s for the beat Lincoln ewe of any age. It was decided to extend tho time for receiving entries until 12 o'clock next Friday. The Chairman notified that; additional special prizes had been given by Messrs Cousins and Aitken, G. Fovrlds, J. H. Dalton, Gariett Bros., McMasters and Shalder.s, Hayrcan, Kelsey, and the Northern Roller Hilling Company. • ~ ,-,
A Generous Offer.—The Chairman intimated that Messrs Buckland and Sons and Hunter and Nolan had offered the free use of their respective paddocks for the purpose of the Show, also the load of all the
hurdles on their places. The offers were received with thanks.
Judges.—The following additional judgee were appointed to fill vacancies :— Draught stock, Mr Andrew Hastie, of Manaia; and cattle, Mr John Stone, of Hawera.
Stewards. — The following were appointed stewards : — Messrs Smith, A. Harris, J. Massey, T. Brown, Dibble, Thompson, Percy, Washer, Wills, C. V. Hill, Westeney, Waliis (junior), Kubhard (junior), Ilenwood, Lawry, Taylor, Dttuwoodie, Atkin, Short, Carruth.
Bakers' Carts.—Messrs Armitago, W. McLaughlin, and F. Dibble were appointed judges of bakers' turn-outs. Sale or Privileges.—lt was resolved to sell tho booths, right to stabling, otc, by public auction.
Special Trains.—Messrs Lawry, Grainger and Atkin were appointed a deputation to wait upon the Railway Department to arrange for special trains to the Show. HOURS. —The Committee decided that exhibits must bo on the ground not later than 10 a.m. on the Friday of the Show. Ib wa3 also agreed that tho Show should closo at 5 o'clock on Saturday.
