TIMBER WORKERS' UNION.
At the Trades and Labour Hall, Wellington, on Friday night, some thirty timber workers attended a- meeting called to consider a'proposal to form a union. Mr W. Cliffe, of the Trades and Labour Council, 0 .. was voted to the chair,' and there were also present, as delegates from the Council, Messrs Kitto and Hurlsten. It was resolved to form a union, to be called the Wellington Timber Workers' Union, and the following members were elected as a committee to draw up rules and report a a meeting to be held next week: —Messrs Denuiston, Mundell, Howlett, PhiJpot, Love, Webb, and Foster. Mr Mundell was appointed acting secretary.
