ONEHUNGA IRON WORKS.
PIG IRON FROM MUDDY • CREEK ORE. The blast furnace at the Onehunga Iron Works having been lighted a few dayß, the blasb was put slowly on at 2 p.m. on Wednesday. Ab 8 p.m. on Thursday the blast furnace was tapped and 132 large pigs of iron run off—aboub 9 tpns. A number of persons were present, and the affair was a greab success, bhere being no hibch at all. Most of the iron bhab tbe furnace is charged . with ' had been supplied by Mr Lawry, who has the lease of Mrs Symonds' estate ab Muddy Creek, from which the if on Ore has been brought. The ore is said; to be very rich on Mrs Symonds' property at Muddy Creek, and Mr Lawry has secured the righb to the ore for tWO years.
