SAILED FOR RUSSELL.
The British screw cruiser Opal weighed her anchors about 2 o'clock this afternoon, and steamed slowly out of port bound for'the Bay of Islands, whore she will make a short stay. Admiral Scott's primary object in sending Captain Bosanquet and his ship to Russell fs in deference to the expressed wish of a number of the residents of that locality that one of the squadron should be present at the Bay of Islands Jubilee Regatta to be held on Wednesday next, in commemoration of the sif-nino- of the memorable Treaty of Waitangi.
