Messrs Arthur and Buddle's Weekly Report—The supply of fresh butter has been much less. But few eggs entered. No firstclass bacon to hand; it is much wanted. Poultry: A good supply of fowls; no first lots. A fair supply ot ducks and geese. No turkeys. Prices ruled low. Pigs were in fair supply, and prices were good. Fowls have brought lOd to 2s each ; chicks, 8d to Is 6d; hens and broods, 3s to 4s 6d; ducks. Mr alex. Aitkens Mabkbt Report.— Produce of most kinds has been in better demand. Potatoes have sold more freely at £2 10s to £3 for good lines; cow potatoes, 2s to 2s 6d per sack, Onions nave been quitted in good
quantities, at from jd to Id; potato onions are hard to quit at Jd. Wheat: Coming forward freely, at from 3s to 3s 3d. Maize: Fair demand, at 3s. Vegetables of all kinds scarcer at fair prices: Poas, 6d to3Jd; first-class garlic is in fair demand for shipping orders. Bacon and hams of first-class quality it. remarkably scarce, and in good demand at 6d to 7d for bacon, and 8d far hams. Cheese has moved off more freely; Farmers', 3d to 3|d; factory, prime, 4Jd to 4Jd; loaves, s£d. Eggs have been scarcer; Good fresh lots, Is to Is Id; doubtful lots. 6d to 9d, Fresh Butter: Most of that to hand was in poor condition; prices ruled from 4£d to 7d. Honey: Supplies all cleared at from 2d to 4d. For keg butter there is no demand at present. In the fruit department there has been a large supEly: Cooking apples have ruled slightly lower, ut dessert kindß have sold high. Plums and pears were also short, at higher rates. Good cooking apples, large, Id to lid ; small and mothed. id to |d ; Irish peach, choice, 2id to 3Jd; Adams' pearmain, 3Jd to 4d ; others, ljd to 2d. Pears: Bon Chretien, green, 3d to 3id ; slightly coloured, 4d to 4}d : Windsor. Id to ljd ; damaged, |d ; other pears, 2d to 3d. Peaches: Good, 8d to Is per dozen and 3d to 4£d per lb; small, 6d to bid per dozen. Nectarines, 9d to Is per dozen ; apricots, none; Orleans plums, 2£d to 4£d, according to condition ,* Golden Drop, 2Jd to 4d; Pond s Seedling, large., 5d to sid; medium, 3|d to4|d; green and purple gages, 2id to 3|d; very choice, 4d; damsons. 2d to 2|d; Coe's Prolifio Damsons, 2Jd to 3*d; lemons, lOd to Is Id; small, 6d; tomatoes, Id to ljd; green, Jd. In the poultry department all pens were filled. Poor and old fowls, Is to Is 3d; good ordinary, Is 5d to Is 8d: roosters, young in condition. Is 7d to Is lid; small and old, Is 2d to Is 4d; chicks, lOd to Is; ducks, Is Id to Is lid and _ Id; geese. 4s each; turkey cocks, 6s 6d; canaries. 2s to 8s ; pigeons, 8d to Is. Pigs were entered in good numbers. Very choice breeds, 10s 6d to 14s 6d; fair lots, 7s to 8s 9d; others, 5s to 6s. j
