THE POLO MATCH.
CANTERBURY DEFEATS THE SQUADRON OFFICERS.
The polo match yesterday afternoon on the Ellerslie Racecourse between a team of four officers from the Squadron and the Canterbury team was very well attended. Rear-Admiral Lord Scott was present during the afternoon. The play was somewhat uninteresting, the Canterbury men having ib pretty well all their own way. They won easily by 8 goals to nil. All the Canterbury team, Messrs A. E. Rhodes, R. H. Rhodes, Palmer and Bennett, managed to score. The Squadron team consisted of the Hon. H. Tyrwhitt, Cumming, Garforth and Storey. _•
