EPIPHANY CHURCH.
THE REV. J. K. DAVIS.
Some time back the Rev. Dr. O'Callagban waa appointed to St. George'? Church, Thames, and the Rev. J. K. Davis was appointed hi? successor at the Epiphany Church. Then a few weeks ago an assistant master was required for the Auckland College and Grammar School, and the Rev. Mr Davis was appointed to the position by the Governors.
Some interest has been felt as to the position in which Mr Davis's acceptance of the Grammar School mastership would place the Epiphany congregation, and this morning one of our staff waited on a warden of the church to see how matters stood.
On asking who was likely to be the Rev. Mr Davis's successor ao the Church, die warden stated that the vestry were quite satisfied with their present pastor; and thab arrangements had been made for Mr Davis to carry on the work of his church while still holding the appointment at the Grammar School. The vestry have agreed to this course, and it ha 3 received the sanction of the Bishop.
