Per s.s. Wainui : 30 casks crystal soda, 32 iron plates, 33 rolls paper, 53 cases tea, 1,200 sacks wheat, 260sacka malt, 40 sacks peas, 350 sacks potatoes, 100 sacks flour, 75 gunnies onions, 79 ingots bronze, 6 packages machinery, 40 tons cargo ex lonic, 540 packages sundries, total 300 tons cargo.
To-day the tug Awhina left for Cabbage 33ay (Ooromandel Peninsula) for the purpose of towing into port the locallyowned coasting scow Lagoon, which ■we learn wa3 dismasted two nights ago ■when lying; timber-laden off the bay. She was dismasted by the rolling of the logs, in rough weather, and was thon anchored full of water, her baulk cargo floating away. She is owned by Mr D. Gouk, of this port, She should arrive in port in tow about eight o'clock this evening.
At 1.30 p.m. to-day the s.s. Wainui arrivedi'rorn Lyttelton and Wellington, bringing mails ex direct steamer Rimutaka. She left Lyttelton at 9 p.m. on the 20th, and arrived at Wellington ab 10 p.m. on the 21sfc. Sailed again following day with the Northern portion of the Rimutaka's ina,.ils at 11.15 a.m. Was abreasc of Tiri Tiri afc noon' to-day, and . arrived alongside the wharf at 1.30 p.m. Experienced fresh S.B. winds with thick foggy and rainy weather from Lyttelton to Wellington and to East Cape freak variable winds with occasional heavy showers, and to arrival frosh southerly winds and line ■weather. Her mails consisted of:—From London 37 bags ; from Hobarb 1 bag ; from "Wellington 4 bags.
