LORD ONSLOW.
His Excellency the Govjbenoe, Lord Onslow, accompanied by Lady Onslow, Captain Savillc, and the Hon. Mr Mitchelson, Native Minister, left the Grand Hotel, Princes - street, at 2.50 this afternoon in a carriage, for the purpose of driving to the top of Mount Eden. The day .'was beautifully clear, and no better opportunity could be obtained to enable His Lordship to see from that elevation the surrounding country and beautiful scenery. From Mount Eden the party will proceed to Epsom, where Lord'Onslow will lay tho foundation stone of the Costley Home for the Aged Poor. To-morrow morning Lord and Lady Onslow will leave for Wellington yia the Hot Lakes.

It has now been decided that Lord Onslow will come overland from Auckland, reaching Wellington by rail on Thursday, 2nd May. He will be met at the railway station and escorted to the Government Buildings, where tho ceremony of swearing him in will be performed by the Chief Justice.
