AUCKLAND BEATS WELLINGTON AND WANGANUI.

New Plymouth, Monday. The rinks were opened at nine a.m. today, when Auckland met Wellington. The match lasted two hours, and resulted in a win for Auckland by 10 points. Tho score.was: No. 1 rinkAuckland, 27 ; Wellington, 15. No. 2 rink —Auckland, 23 ; Wellington, 24. No. 3 rink — Auckland, 18; Wellington, 19; total, Auckland 68, Wellington 58. In iNo. 1 rink Miller made excellent play, and virtually won tho game for Auckland. Campbell played well for Wellington, but being tho loader, was oiten bowled out. In No. 3 rink Tait and McKernie played well, and if they did not score a victory for iheir rink they deserved it. As Wellington beat in two rinks out of three all, are pleased and nobody proud. During the match the weather was very uncertain, showers and sunshine alternating with a keen wind from the south-cast.

At eleven o'clock Taranaki met Wanganui, the former winning by 24 points, the score being 70 to 46, W anganui winning in one rink only, where they stood 19 to 16.

At one p.m. Tavanaki met "Wellington and beat them by 22 points, the score being 68 to 46, Wellington playing a very uphill game with great pluck all through.

There was a large number of visitors present during the greater part-of the day, most of whom took a keen interest in the several matches. The double victory of New Plymouth ovor Wellington and VYanganui was greeted with much satisfaction. During the afternoon refreshments on a most liberal scale were freely dispensed to all comers by the ladies of New Plymouth, who were indefatigable in their endeavours to supply the wants of their numerous visitors.

At 3 p.m. Auckland took the green against Wanganui, three rinks on each side, and obtained a very decided victory, 69 points to 45. In this game Auckland was the winner in each rink. No. 1 gained 20 points to 17, No. 2 gained 29 to 12, and No. 3 gained 20 to 15.

To-morrow tho match between Auckland and New Plymouth takes place, when Greek meets Greek. Each side is very sanguine.
