A NICE BOY.

Geokgb Powlky, a boy aged 10 "years, appeared on remand at the Police Court this morning bofore Messrs IT. R. George and L. Ehrenfried, justices. He had previously pleaded guilty to having stolen two pigeons, the property of PL G, W;ade, and was remanded in order that the Probation Officer might report. Tbo Bench after considering Mr Reston's report remarked that when the lad was remanded he bad promised to conduct himself properly in the interim. Instead of doing so, however, theyV found from the report of the Probation Officer that he had been stealing fruit and other things K'ince he was remanded. For a boy like that there was nothing but imprisonment. They therefore had decked to send him to gaol for 48 hours, and also instructed that he should be brought before the R. M.
