Wakgakoi, Friday. ■ The Wanganui Jockey Club's Spring meet ing was held to-day. There Was a good at tendance. Results : —

Handicap Hurdle Race, of TOsovs (two miles and a distance). —Martin's Kangaroo (Pell), 1; (.'ermaino, 2. Fourteen horses ran. All got over the first hurdle safely, with the exception of Marylong, ,who fell and unyhipped its rider. Waimen came to grief at the socond hurdle, throwing his rider and receiving. some IS inches of the hurdlo in his ehest\ Ho struggled to his feet;, bub shortly afterwards diod. Ab the back of tho course Le Clair and Oddfellow led tha field, but in -coming round into the straight the last time Kangaroo forged ahead, and got up to Oddfellow, who led him over tho last hurdlo on the outside, and crossed him just near the. post, winning jusfc .half-a-length ahoad of Kangaroo.
