EXHIBITS FOR PARIS AND MELBOURNE.
BANQUET TO MR LARNACH.

The French Consul (Viscount Jouflray D'Abbans) has made an offer to the Gold; fields Committee to take personal charge of all exhibits that may be sei.t from New Zealand to the Paris Exhibition. The Gold-fields Committee have decided to invite the Viscount to give evidence before them to-morrow with regard to the mining exhibits. Tho goldfields members are determined not to be outdone in recognition of the services rendered by the Hon. Mr Larnach to the mining industry in New Zealand. They are making arrangements to entertain the honourable gentleman' at a banquet in Bellamy's on Saturday night. The report of the Goldnelds Committee upon tho mining exhibits from New Zealand at Melbourne Exhibition has not yet been framed. It is understood, however, that ib will go in the direction of impressing upon the Government the necessity of having the mining industry as largely represented as possible.
