POLICE COURT.
(Before Messrs S. Y. Collins and J. New
man, Justices.) DpwUXKenness. — One first offender, was fined 5s and costs or 24 hours in default.
Two Boxers.—Charles Adams and Patrick Foley were charged under the Police Offences Act, 1884, with fighting in a public place, to wit, Customs-street, on the 26th of July.—Prisoners pleaded not guilty.— Constable McCoy deposed to seeing the men fighting, and taking them into arrest. Prisoners said that they were only larking with one another.-Peter McCabe deposed to seeing the occurrence. The men were only skylarking. He was there from first to last.—The Bench cautioned the men not to indulge in skylarking in the public streets, and then dismissed the charge. Straying Horse.—Frederick Shera was charged with having committed a breach of the by-laws by allowing his horse to stray in Alten Road.—Defendant did not aopear.—Constable Lamb deposed to impounding the horse.—Defendant wa3 fioed 5s and costs. Assault.—Thomas Williams was charged with havingassaultedone Sarah Anne Muller by striking her.—Mr J. 0. Meagher appeared for the defendant and asked that the case be adjourned until next Tuesday. —The application was granted.
