SUPPOSED DROWNING CASE.

A man named George Shorcdge, master of the fishing smack Irene, has reported to the police that one of his crew, named John Winn, has been missing since Friday, the 15th instant. Winn is a colonial, aged 22 years. He was last seen by another fisherman named Austin standing near the Waitemata Hotel, Queensbreet. He was then very drunk, and it is to be feared that while in thab state he has gone down the wharf, fallen over, and been drowned. Winn's mother is a widow, who resides at the North Shore. She was visited yesterday, when she stated that she had not seen her son since last Friday.
